OUR STORY

In the year of 1909, Church Of The Living God, with the motto, Christian Workers for Fellowship, Temple # 41 was organized by the late Rev. Mack Williams and Evangelist Campbell.  During this time there were many members added to the church. After the death of Elder Williams, the late Bishop D. V. Warren pastured this temple and built one of the finest wooden structures of its time.  There were numerous pastors who did their bit to keep this temple alive and going.  Under Overseer T. A. McDaniel another church was built on the same spot of ground as the other building.
In 1978 Elder S. T. Goodlow became pastor.  Many changes have taken place during his tenure, and God has been blessing this body of believers in a number of ways.  The sanctuary was remodeled, the fellowship hall was connected to the main church building, the front entrance of the Church was remodeled, and the parking lot was paved.  Under Elder Goodlow’s leadership, new ministries have been developed: the Food Ministry, Health Services Ministry, Men of Power Ministry, and Glory Girls Book Club.
In 2008, God blessed our congregation with another place to worship.  We were planning to build a new church, but God blessed us with a church building already furnished including a good sound system.
God continues to bless our congregation with members that truly love him and each other.
